The relatively rural area abounds with deer, small game, and waterfowl. The spring time offers morel mushrooms and fall gives beautiful color to view. Lakes & RiversLake Billings is nestled in the City of Manton and provides fishing, swimming beaches, boating, canoeing and campgrounds. Lake Billings Park has both primitive sites for tent campers and non-primitive sites for those who rough it in RVs and motor homes. There are several local streams feeding the Manistee River system, which crosses US-131 approximately 6 miles north of Manton. There are state campgrounds on the Manistee River, with tubing, canoeing and wildlife watching. Manton Pathway and GardensThe Manton Pathway and Garden is located ¼ mile
north of US-131 and M-42 intersection, Then west on Cedar St. next to
