Snowmobiling and Cross Country Skiing

It is not an exaggeration to say that you can snowmobile and ski right outside your back door. Snowmobile trails crisscross Wexford County throughout the City of Manton. The City has designated trails for safe passage. The snowmobile trail just north of Manton is easy to get to. The trail follows all the way to the Big Mac Bridge, and has some of the most scenic views in the state. Snowmobile Trail maps are available at http://www.michiweb.com/snowmobile/maps

The state-hiking trail that crosses the state is just north of the Manistee River and it will follow the for quite some ways. There are also ATV trails that parallel the snowmobile trails, which use the same trail heads.

Sports Activities

In addition to the hunting, fishing, snow sports and river activities, the community offers tennis courts and summer basketball. We have one of finest 18 hole golf courses in state, Emerald Vale.
